About

Founded in the late 1990s as a non-profit 501(c)3 venture of the Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC), the ETC (Emerging Technology Centers), promotes economic growth by providing its member companies with the resources they need — access to seed capital, mentors, potential partners, a collaborative community, etcetera — to get where they want to go, as quickly as possible. Over the years, hundreds of companies have passed through our doors, creating thousands of jobs, and raising billions of dollars in outside funding. And it’s more than that. Built upon a simple principal — providing “a safe, controlled environment in which to grow” — the ETC offers:

  • An affordable, collaborative community workspace in which like-minded business people can reach their potential simply by focusing on their companies.
  • Incubator and accelerator programs that are as rigorous, diverse, and wide-ranging as the staff, mentors, and others who support it.
  • Networking opportunities and connections that provide access to a wider community of entrepreneurs.

The ETC is all of these things and more. Our mission is to foster a transformative community of tech-savvy, innovative, entrepreneurial people looking for creative collaboration to accelerate their growth potential and make a powerful economic impact on the City of Baltimore and beyond:
