Taueret Khepera Thomas is no stranger to the world of culinary with nearly 20 years of practical knowledge as a culinary professional. Chef Thomas is a sought after industry expert as she comfortably wears many hats – chef, culinary administrator and educator, consultant, brand ambassador, and competition judge to name just a few. A culinary maven whose passion is food, Chef Thomas is endorsed by other chefs and culinary professionals for her uncompromising standards and discipline for the culinary arts. She was recently the recipient assisted with a small business loan through one of our resource providers, Operation Hope.
Chef Thomas is owner of Khepera’s Kitchen, LLC, an elite chef service for individuals and organizations who require personalized creation of great food. Her cooking style is characterized by the creative use of classical techniques, seasonal ingredients, and clean plate presentations. Chef Thomas’s cooking repertoire is based on her love of global cuisines and includes gluten-free and vegetarian dishes. Her experience in fine-dining, boutique catering and hotel kitchens defines her culinary talent.
Chef Thomas achieved a number of firsts, including the youngest and only woman of color to lead a culinary college in the State of Maryland as well as earning the highly regarded Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) certification in 2006. Chef Thomas has made numerous cooking appearances on local television stations in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area, guest speaker engagements for healthy cooking seminars and working as a consulting chef for private and non-profit organizations.
Chef Thomas graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Chef Thomas is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
