Filing types currently accepted* : Sole Proprietorship, General Partnership, Maryland Limited Liability Company, Foreign (Non-Maryland) Limited Liability Company, Stock Corporation, Tax-Exempt Nonstock Corporation, Close Corporation, Foreign (Non-Maryland) Corporation.
Note: You may now submit business filings using your own documentation for the following types: LLC, Stock Corporation, Close Corporation, and Tax Exempt Non-Stock Corporation.

Establish your necessary tax accounts with the Comptroller of Maryland
» Register A Trade Name
Register a business ‘Trading As’ name with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation
» Order Copies of Business Documents Previously Filed

Documents may be Certified only, and may include Articles of Incorporation and Articles of Organization only. Receive documents immediately via email. If you are unsure how the business was filed, click this link to determine if the business was filed online.

Documents may be Certified or Non-Certified, and may include Amendments, Articles of Incorporation, Articles of Organization, Revivals, Trade Names, etc.

Note: All filings through this portal (with the exception of Personal Property Returns) will be processed with the Department of Assessments and Taxation within 3 business days. The Department of Assessments and Taxation expedited fee schedule will apply.
After completing the online registration process, you will receive all the necessary licenses and account numbers for your business.
This electronic government service includes a $3 eCheck fee or 3% service/convenience fee for payments processed through this site. This fee is assessed by NICUSA, Inc., Maryland's eGovernment service provider, a third party working under a contract administered by the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT).
