Growing the Entrepreneurial Community of Baltimore

Dell Gines of Growing Entrepreneurial Communities Summit

Recently, Baltimore SourceLink traveled all the way to Kansas City, Missouri, for the Growing Entrepreneurial Communities Summit hosted by Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Center for Rural Entrepreneurship, Edward Lowe Foundation, NetWork Kansas and SourceLink.  It was truly inspiring to be among more than 200 renowned thought leaders and practitioners in entrepreneurship, all to learn how other communities identify, connect, engage and serve entrepreneurs.

The big takeaway that we took from the Summit was that nearly all of the represented cities, rural and urban, middle of the map and both coasts, share the same issue: how to connect entrepreneurs with valuable resources that will in turn help them start and grow thriving businesses.

That’s why it’s so important Baltimore SourceLink exists.

Our mission is to help small businesses in our city grow and prosper by providing business owners easy access to needed services. With so many resources available, it can be difficult for an entrepreneur to find the right resource at the right time.

The Baltimore entrepreneur

Baltimore entrepreneurs need financial resources and assistance, business planning help and marketing or sales aid. How do we know this? We have a handy tool called Resource Navigator

With Resource Navigator, entrepreneurs can find resources in the area that fit their particular business stage, industry, area of assistance such as business planning or marketing, minority owned and woman owned. We even have a handy map that pinpoints where each resource is located in the city.

We keep track of the most searched for resources and use this information to hone our services to you.
